Why choose our public preschool?

Kemblawarra Public School, spanning from P-6, provides a cohesive educational continuum. Our preschool plays the essential groundwork for a smooth transition into our kindergarten class. Operating Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 2:30pm during school terms, our preschool follows a convenient 5 day fortnight schedule. To be eligible for enrolment, your child must have turned 4, or will do so on or before the 31st of July. This marks their first year of schooling at KPS. We offer an educational career at our school and for our students this begins in our preschool program. We follow the Early Years Learning Framework enriched with play based and project based learning and create strong and quality intentiona llearning experiences. We have a strong understanding of how children learn and offer a rich phonemicand phonological awareness program to support the phonics program children will access in kindergarten. Early literacy and numeracy, social and emotional opportunities are carefully planned forand improvements sit within our Quality Improvement Plan.

Fees

We do not charge fees to attend our preschool. NSW public preschools are funded by the NSW government.

Attendance

Public preschools enrol children for one year only, the year before they start school.

Children can enrol from the beginning of the school year if they turn 4 years of age before 31 July that year.

Meals

Children bring their own meals and snacks to preschool. For more information, please contact us.

How to enrol

Unlike NSW public schools, there are no intake areas for public preschools. Enrolment is on application only.

Enrolling in a preschool within a school does not guarantee a place at that school for Kindergarten. Please contact the school office to find join our waitlist.
