Student Leadership
At Kemblawarra Public School, we take great pride in nurturing confident, compassionate, and responsible student leaders. Our Student Leadership Team play an active and valued role in shaping our vibrant school community.
Our leadership structure includes several tiers:
- School Captains – selected from the Year 6 cohort, representing our school with pride and integrity.
- Student Representative Council (SRC) Leaders – representatives from each class, providing a strong student voice and leading key school initiatives.
- Class Captains – an accumulative leadership opportunity where new captains are nominated each term, ensuring a variety of hardworking students have a chance to contribute.
- Sports House Captains – elected by their house peers to inspire teamwork, school spirit, and participation across sporting events.
Sporting Events
Sport is essential for primary school students as it plays a crucial role in their physical, mental, and social development. Participating in sports helps children develop fundamental movement skills which are vital for overall physical health.
Engaging in sports also contributes to improved focus and academic performance. Active children tend to be better at concentrating, retaining information, and managing stress, which can positively influence their classroom learning.
At Kemblawarra we strive to offer a well-rounded approach to child development, promoting physical fitness, emotional well-being, and social skills, while instilling values of teamwork, respect, and fair play.

Dance Festival & Southern Stars
DANCE FESTIVAL
Each year, our students proudly represent our school at the Dance Festival. It is an incredible celebration of creativity, teamwork, and storytelling through movement. The experience gives our students the confidence to perform on stage and the opportunity to express themselves through dance. The effect of our participation in dance festival can be seen by our students increased persistence, confidence and willingness to give new opportunities a try. Our teachers create the music, choreography, and costumes, thoughtfully linking each routine to their class’s learning for the year. It is a true showcase of passion, imagination, and collaboration!
SOUTHERN STARS
Each year, our school proudly takes part in Southern Stars. It is an inspiring regional performance that brings together thousands of students from across NSW. This wonderful experience gives our students the chance to work with professional dance teachers, learn choreography, and perform on a grand stage. Beyond the lights and costumes, Southern Stars helps our students build confidence, teamwork, and lasting friendships as they collaborate with children from other schools. It’s a highlight of our school year and a celebration of creativity, dedication, and pride in performance.
After School Clubs
At Kemblawarra Public School, learning doesn’t stop when the bell rings! Led by our dedicated teachers and support staff, these clubs encourage creativity, teamwork, and curiosity across a wide range of activities.

- Sport Club – Active and energetic, this club focuses on building sporting skills through fun and engaging games from a variety of sports codes.
- Homework Club – A calm and supportive space where students can complete homework with guidance from teachers and support staff.
